LPC 2013 Videos and Slides are Now Available

We are pleased to announce that videos and slides for the Linux Plumbers Conference 2013 are now available on our new Resources page. All the videos that were recorded are listed on that page. If a specific video is not listed, then the session wasn’t recorded. Slides have been uploaded by the presenters. Keep in mind that and not all the Microconference sessions used slides. Pointers to the Etherpads containing the Microconference notes are also available. Enjoy!
We’d like to thank Francois Demange for recording, uploading and editing the videos.

Call for Linux Plumbers Conference Planning Committee applications for Düsseldorf in 2014

The Linux Foundation Technical Advisory Board, as the Steering Committee for Linux Plumbers Conference would like to announce the call for applications to become the next Plumbers planning team. The application process is documented here:

https://wiki.linuxfoundation.org/en/LPC

Because of the tight deadline applications must be in no later than 3 November and are expected to be decided on by mid to end of November. The venue designated at this stage is Düsseldorf, Germany, co-located with LinuxCon Europe on the week of 13-17 October. However strong applications co-locating with LinuxCon North America in Chicago on the week of 18-22 August will be considered on merit.

James Bottomley

on behalf of Plumbers Steering Committee

Thanks for a great LPC!

Thanks to everyone for a great LPC! FYI, we’re constantly getting spammed by WordPress junk right now, so if you have a question or issue for the committee, please use contact@lists.linuxplumbersconf.org to contact us.  And see you in 2014!

LPC Closing Plenary and Party at Grand Isle Restaurant

Don’t miss our LPC closing events this PM! First, James Bottomley will host the closing plenary at 5:15 in Celestin F,G,& H (rooms will be combined), where each microconference lead will give a summary of the work that’s happened here this week. It’s a great way to catch up on any microconferences you missed.

After that, all LPC attendees are invited to meet in the lobby of the Hyatt at 6:30 to catch a bus to Grand Isle restaurant for the LPC Closing Party from 7 to 10 pm.  The event will feature a wide array of food options from traditional New Orleans seafood and fantastic slow roasted pork, to custom vegetarian creations the chef has designed just for our event.  The restaurant has been asked to specifically identify the vegetarian items to avoid confusion; if you have any issues or questions during the party or have a specific dietary need and are concerned about the menu items, please find one of the green-lanyard-wearing conference committee members (James Bottomley, Becky Bruce, Jes Sorensen, or Chris Johnston), and we’ll work with the restaurant to make sure you’re well-fed .  FYI, the bar will be open, except for the Cognacs.

Buses will be running back to the hotel until just after 10.  If you plan to go out afterwards, the party venue is near the Riverwalk, and is a quick walk to the French Quarter.  The Harrah’s Casino is also just next door  to the restaurant and is also a popular destination in the area.

Whatever you decide to do tonight, as we like to say here in N’awlins, Laissez les bon temps rouler!  Thanks to everyone for a great #linuxplumbers!
