Yabusame: Postcopy Live Migration for Qemu/KVM
Session information has not yet been published for this event.
One Line Summary
Yabusame is yet another live migration mechanism for Qemu/KVM, which implements the migration technique known as "postcopy" or "lazy" migration.
Abstract
Yabusame is yet another live migration mechanism for Qemu/KVM, which implements the migration technique known as “postcopy” or “lazy” migration. Just after the “migrate” command is invoked, the execution host of a VM is instantaneously switched to a destination host. We have developed an early prototype of Yabusame and confirmed the prototype successfully worked. Now we design its production-level architecture, through which, hopefully, Yabusame will be merged into the mainline of Qemu/KVM.
In this talk, we explain the design of Yabusame live migration and demonstrate it. We also discuss the mainline merge plan for the upstream. The target audience is virtualization developers and advanced users.
