Both Xen and KVM do virtualization. What can we integrate to leverage each other advantages (and reduce the maintainer headache)

Abstract

Both KVM and Xen provide a framework for virtualization. Xen is re-tooling over to use SeaBIOS, upstreaming Xen components in QEMU, porting VirtIO to XenBus. KVM is looking at providing PV IOMMU drivers, has a PCI kernel backend driver for PCI passthrough. Can the kernel pieces be meshed together? Or the user-space components – can they more closely meshed?
